Airframe Ultra Standard, Light, Heavy, Tall
Hurtbox, stamina, melee, Hopper weight, difficulty stars, and the Rider Suit.
Body type is the rider stat block. The editor’s height, weight, and sex sliders resolve into Standard, Light, Heavy, or Tall — stamina, speed, hurtbox, melee, and which moves exist. Parent: riders hub. Cosmetics and .txt files: character creator. The full game is coming soon. The downloadable demo already uses these builds in online PvP, online co-op, and split-screen.
How the editor assigns a build
Under BODY you get height, weight, and sex sliders plus a skin color picker. Skin is cosmetic. The first three are not:
- Height — taller riders get longer limbs (better punch and kick reach) and a bigger hurtbox.
- Weight — visual mass. Combined with height it pushes you toward Light or Heavy.
- Sex — masculine reads slightly taller, broader, heavier; feminine reads slightly shorter, wider hips, lighter. It is a slider, not a binary, and it feeds the same build math.
You do not pick “Light” from a menu. Drag sliders, then check moves in a bot match: chain flip means Light; no jump-kick plus easy trips means Heavy.
Standard
Average stamina, speed, hurtbox, and melee. You can jump-kick forward. You cannot chain-flip. You do not take a difficulty star for body type. Ride Standard while you learn controls, or if you already took a specialist airframe and do not want a second star. It lets the airframe tier list speak without a rider asterisk.
Light
Short or thin. More stamina, more speed, a small hurtbox, and the chain flip (Light only). You take more damage and deal less melee. Light is the duelist and Hopper’s best friend. Take katana, chain, or a gun — not a sledgehammer. See the weapon tier list and combat. Light adds a difficulty star.
Heavy
Taller and broader. You take less damage and deal more melee. Larger hitbox, less stamina, you trip easily, and you swing slower. You cannot jumping forward kick. On foot, Heavy wins if you land pipe or sledge. On the bike, the extra hurtbox eats plasma. Heavy adds a difficulty star.
Tall
Large height without Heavy weight. Reach is the point: punches and kicks land from a step farther. Hurtbox is the tax. Tall does not add a difficulty star (stars only come from Light/Heavy, specialist bike, and no suit). Do not confuse Tall with Heavy. Tall still jump-kicks. Tall does not get the melee damage buff or the damage reduction. If you wanted tank, you wanted Heavy.
Hopper and weight class
Hopper is the only airframe where rider weight is a first-class speed stat:
- Baseline: about 150 km/h after ~50 seconds, gear 8 ~205 km/h, 1.6x damage taken.
- Light on Hopper: toward 160 km/h in that window.
- Heavy on Hopper: toward 125 km/h in that window.
Bluntnose, Vector, and Cruiser notice weight much less. Cruiser is so nose-heavy that Light does not save the turning circle. If you want Heavy melee and a fast bike, stay on Bluntnose. If you want Hopper’s jump, go Light or Standard. Confirm numbers in the airframe comparison tool and boost habits in the boosting guide.
Difficulty stars and Rider Suit
Stars cap at three: specialist airframe (not Bluntnose); Light or Heavy body (not Standard, not Tall); no Rider Suit. The suit is −15% damage taken, not a costume. Helmets and jackets do not share that bonus. Other players see the stars next to your name in online PvP, online co-op, and split-screen. They will target a three-star Hopper Light.
Picking a body for a kit
Learning the demo: Standard, suit on, Bluntnose — getting started and demo notes. Hopper arenas: Light, suit on. Cruiser highways: Standard or Heavy; weight will not fix the turning circle. Vector: Standard or Light, suit on — you already take 1.3x on the bike. Dismount brawler: Heavy plus sledge. Kick reach: Tall.
If chain flip vanished, you left Light. If jump-kick vanished, you entered Heavy. A Light Cruiser still turns like a barge. Put the suit on, pick the bike for the tracks you actually play, and leave the third star for later.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for racers still learning Megacity West.
Which body type should I start with?
Standard, Rider Suit on, Bluntnose. It adds no body star and keeps average melee. Learn controls before Light flips or Heavy trips.
Does Light always add a difficulty star?
Yes. Light and Heavy each add one star. Standard and Tall do not. Specialist bikes and skipping the Rider Suit add the other two, cap three.
Is the Rider Suit just a costume?
No. It is −15% damage taken. Helmets and jackets are cosmetic. Skipping the suit is the third difficulty star. Details on customization.
Why is Heavy bad on Hopper?
Hopper is the bike most affected by rider weight. Heavy can sag toward 125 km/h in a window Light can push toward 160. Hopper already takes 1.6x damage. See the airframe comparison tool.
What unique moves should I test?
Light: chain flip. Standard and Light: jumping forward kick. Heavy: no jump-kick, slower swings, easy trips. Confirm in a bot match, then read combat.
Do these builds change in split-screen?
No. Online PvP, online co-op, and local split-screen use the same body rules. Share the custom `.txt` so the person on the couch is not stuck on a random Heavy.
