Airframe Ultra Shortcuts and Tech

Wall-ride and slope ultraboost on Vector. Hopper goes up. Cruiser stays on the ground. Skip manners still apply.

Airframe Ultra Shortcuts and Tech

Airframe Ultra rewards the honest line first and the clever line second. Shortcuts exist. The developers have joked that they know you are breaking geometry, and some skips get patched between tests. This page is movement tech you can take into a public lobby without emptying the room: air brake into a wall ride, slope ultraboost on Vector, Hopper’s air boosts, Cruiser’s grounded pulls. Game-breaking clips belong in a private room that agreed to sequence breaks, not in a random queue. The full game is coming soon. When a playtest or the listed Steam demo is open, you can download it and practice these inputs online or in split-screen.

Learn throttle, brake pitch, and coolant on controls and boosting before you hunt a skip. A wall ride is a boost angle. It is not a teleport.

Air brake, wall ride, slope ultraboost

Brake is pitch, not only friction. Holding brake lifts the nose, tightens handling, and gives you authority in the air. On a wall, that pitch is how you point the boosters at the surface. Drive at the wall, tap air brake so the chassis matches the face, then boost. The same idea on a slope is Vector’s ultraboost: glide close to the ground, match the surface angle, and boost once while you are skimming, not floating. Too high and the burst clamps near 150 km/h. Too stacked, and the bike yaws into a crash. You want roughly 280–300 km/h, not a skyward hop.

Chasm is the tutor map because the bridge ramps are honest. Boost about a third of the way up the ramp, not at the lip and not at the floor. Storm Drain is the playground: pipes, wet slopes, and faces you can ride if the nose is right. Ocean Drive’s early highway has low ceilings that slap a tall Vector boost into the roof. Estate interiors murder unplanned boosts. Rank the chassis on the airframe tier list before you vote Vector into a mansion.

Do not boost during an active Vector boost unless you mean to compound. Compounding multiplies, which is how people look like they skipped geometry — and how Vector veers into a pillar. Wait out the follow-through, then tap again. Dry-boosting Vector from full health can dump about 60% of the chassis. That is not tech. That is a throw.

Hopper: the boost goes up

Hopper would rather leave the ground than kiss it. The boost is short, punchy, and vertical. Use it as a gap tool, not a highway button. Air boosts on Hopper are how you clear lips on Storm Drain, hop a pit lip on Quarry, and leave a fight you cannot win. Landing dumps speed, so plan the touchdown. Light riders help Hopper’s speed window; Heavy sags it. Dry-boost costs about a third of a paper bike. Hopper is A in arenas and B on long straights. Shortcuts that require three stacked air boosts across a void are how you feed the respawn timer.

Cruiser: grounded, long, heavy

Cruiser wants tarmac. The boost lasts about 1.5 seconds with little vertical. You boost on the ground into a ramp, then keep airtime; slapping the floor dumps the extra speed. Front-heavy handling means a sloppy air brake plus boost can shove the nose down. Cruiser makes Night Ride and Ocean Drive’s long pulls look easy and Estate’s foyer look like a prank. Do not try to wall-ride it like Vector. Use the long grounded pull, arrive at the arena with a bike that still exists, then dismount.

Bluntnose remains the teacher. Three canisters, no specialist star, a short punchy boost you can fire in an arena. Practice order: Bluntnose coolant only, then Cruiser grounded pulls, then Hopper jumps, then Vector glides. Check tracks so you are not ultraboosting into Estate’s ceiling.

Community skips, patches, and lobby manners

Players have found out-of-bounds lines: pit ultras on Storm Drain, market cuts on Night Ride, dimer jumps on Chasm, boosted wall climbs that put you above the intended road. Akupara’s beta notes shrugged at the genre, then noted that some skips got patched. A clip that worked in closed beta 2 is not a promise for the next download. Developers have joked about the whole skip genre. They are not asking you to do that in a public circuit.

Do not use game-breaking skips in public lobbies that did not agree to them. Sequence-break a private room or a friends split-screen if everyone wants the clip. In a random online queue, the intended line is how you keep the room. A skip that dumps you out of bounds while the pack is already in the arena is how you donate the heat you needed for how to win. After the February 2026 recap, you must win at least one of the three races. A fancy wall clip that strands you is not a race win.

If a skip requires climbing a start-wall, hugging a death strip, and clipping back in bounds, it is a sequence break. If a skip is “brake, match the slope, boost once,” it is Vector tech and you should learn it. The difference is whether the pack can still race you. Online PvP, online co-op, and split-screen all use the same physics. Practice in the downloadable demo when the window is open.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for racers still learning Megacity West.

What is a Vector ultraboost?

A ground-hugging glide that matches the surface angle, then one boost. Wall rides use the same idea with air brake first. You want roughly 280–300 km/h, not a skyward hop. See boosting.

Do Hopper and Cruiser share that wall-ride?

Not as their job. Hopper’s boost launches up; use it for gaps. Cruiser’s boost is long and grounded; use pavement. All four bikes can boosted-wall-climb, but Vector is the slope specialist.

Are community skips still in the game?

Some are, some got patched, and the developers have joked about the whole genre. Do not assume a closed-beta clip survived. Learn the real line on tracks first.

Should I skip in a public lobby?

No, not the game-breaking kind. Private rooms and split-screen with friends who agreed are the place for sequence breaks. Public circuits want a race everyone can still contest.

Which map should I practice Vector tech on?

Chasm’s bridge ramps and Storm Drain’s slopes. Avoid Estate interiors and Ocean Drive’s low early ceiling until the glide is boring.

Does a skip help me win a circuit?

Only if it wins you a race without stranding you. After the open-beta recap you must win at least one heat. A clip that dumps you out of bounds is a donated circuit. See how to win.
