Airframe Ultra Guides

Learn the race-and-brawl loop before you waste a circuit on dry-boost scrap.

Guides Hub

Airframe Ultra is Videocult and Akupara Games’ upcoming Windows combat racer: hoverbikes called airframes, on-foot brawls, and Ultra Circuit scoring across Megacity West. Steam still lists the full game as coming soon. You can download the listed demo, then use this hub to turn a messy first lobby into a plan. Start with How to Play if you have not finished the tutorial loop.

These pages assume a gamepad, because analog throttle and airborne brake are much easier on a stick. Keyboard works, but it is all-or-nothing on the throttle. Rebindable keys landed in the February 2026 open beta, so if a default mapping fights you, change it before you blame the bike.

First hour path

Read in this order if you are new. The getting started walkthrough covers wishlist, demo download, Bluntnose, Standard body, dismount timing, and how KOs score next to race legs. Pair it with controls so throttle, translate, brake pitch, duck, and on-foot jump/punch/kick/flip are not a surprise in a public room.

Then park on boosting. Coolant canisters are the safe boost. Empty canisters still boost, but that dry-boost spends airframe health. Stacking compounds, overheat punishes held top speed, and each chassis boosts differently: Vector glides for ultraboost, Hopper launches up, Cruiser wants long grounded pulls. Do not skip this page and then explode a specialist bike on Storm Drain. Movement cuts that save a heat without dumping you out of bounds live on shortcuts.

Race, brawl, and maps

Tracks in the betas are not closed ovals. They open into arenas where the pack is expected to hop off, fight, and remount when the timer ends. The combat guide explains the four equipment slots, melee on bike versus on foot, plasma-pistol overheat, and why knocking someone out is worth as much as a clean leg. If you only practice laps, you will lose circuits to players who treat the arena as the real race.

Use the tracks guide before you vote. Warehouse is the lobby and vote room, not a throwaway. Storm Drain, Quarry, Night Ride, Chasm, Ocean Drive, and Estate all showed up in closed tests and in the February 23–March 2 2026 open beta that rode on the demo download. Docks, Hanging Gardens, and Sunset City have appeared in art; treat them as unreleased. Shortcuts exist. The developers have joked about it. Learn the honest line first, then the skip, or you will vote for a map you cannot recover on.

The demo guide is the page to re-open whenever Steam news drops. Earlier, the listed demo was tutorial-only. During Steam Next Fest and that February 2026 open beta, the same demo download carried every previous beta track plus Warehouse. After a test window, content can shrink back to the tutorial loop. Check the store news before you assume Ocean Drive is still in the download.

What to open after the how-tos

Guides teach the verbs. Other hubs teach the loadout. Compare chassis numbers on Tools, then rank them on the tier list. Rider bodies, suits, and the 23 presets live under Riders. Patch and beta history sit on Updates, including system requirements: Windows 10, an i3-3220 or FX-4300 class CPU, 6 GB RAM, GTX 650 / HD 7750 / HD 630, DirectX 11, and about 1 GB of disk as the Steam minimum.

Steam lists online PvP, online co-op, and split-screen. Practice bots if you want a quiet first hour, then host or join a circuit of three races with points carrying over. After the February 2026 open-beta recap, winning that circuit also requires winning at least one of the three races — a points lead is not enough. How to Win is the scoring page. Between races you walk into a highlighted zone in Warehouse to vote; two random tracks appear, and ties break randomly. That loop is the whole game. These guides exist so you stop treating it like a pure racer or a pure brawler.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for racers still learning Megacity West.

Where should a new Airframe Ultra player start?

Download the Steam-listed demo, finish the tutorial, then read How to Play and controls. Stay on Bluntnose and Standard until throttle and dismount feel boring.

Is the full game out?

No. Steam lists Airframe Ultra as coming soon on Windows. A free demo is listed on the store page. Treat betas as tests, not launch. See demo notes and updates.

Do I need a gamepad?

It is highly recommended. Keyboard throttle is full-on; a trigger lets you feather speed and survive overheat. Rebind keys if you stay on keyboard. Details are on controls.

Can I play with friends locally and online?

Yes. Steam lists online PvP, online co-op, and split-screen. Host a circuit, then vote in Warehouse. Getting started covers lobby flow.

Which guide covers exploding my bike?

That is dry-boost and overheat, not a mystery crash. Read boosting and compare chassis on Tools before you pick Vector or Hopper.

Where do weapons and riders sit if this hub is only how-tos?

Combat technique is in combat. Rankings are on the tier list. Presets and body types are under Riders.
